Arianna Casellas grew up in Venezuela, Kauê Gindri in Brazil, and they met in Porto a long time ago, having more recently started playing and living together.
Arianna has been active in several formations (Sereias, Septeto Interregional and Melífluo) and along with Kauê, she had already released as Montes in Lovers & Lollypops.
At the end of last year, they put out a Christmas EP, “Aguinaldos, Villancicos y Presagios“, where they “reflect on the rituals and customs that time has imposed on them, always in the form of a song made of travel and stories.” A meeting inspired by Latin American folk music, evocative of the figures of the post-war period of the last century : both the ones that in favour of synthesis and renewal, and the ones who operated disruption - from Violeta Parra to Tom Zé -. Adding to the mix the North American indie of recent decades, Arianna & Kauê seem to be going through a new creative period from which we can expect aggregating progress.
