Lizatron is a record digger and collector, and the figure behind Invisible Sounds, a London-based label/promoter/radio show. She contributes to Mutant Radio in Tbilisi with her quarterly podcast, and to local East Side Radio with the bi-weekly show Formation. She has played extensively in the city and in Porto, being a resident at Fiasco, and has a long-standing relationship with the cult club Salon des Amateurs in Düsseldorf - which has been strengthened by bringing deejays such as Tolouse LowTrax, Lucas and Marijana Croon and Lena Willikens to Portugal.
Djilam Turé is an acclaimed singer, composer and dancer from Guinea-Bissau. She is said to have started as a dancer in the late 1990s with the National Ballet associated with the FARP. In 2003 she was one of the founding members of the Netos de Bandin project, which participated in the Kani Lai Festival in Gambia that same year. Still with Netos de Bandin she performed at the celebrations commemorating the independence of the Republic of Senegal the following year.
Djilam then founded the Harmonia de Luanda Group in 20212, with other colleagues, which achieved great success associated with the dissemination of Tina's music and the mandjuandades movement. Tina, also called a water drum, is a musical instrument consisting of drums cut in half and filled with water, on which a hemispherical gourd is placed and struck with the hands. An instrument often associated with city life, the tina is used at parties, weddings and recreational activities of mandjuandades (people of the same age) and the “weeping” ceremony of the elderly, held a week after the funeral. It is a resonance instrument with a hollow sound (“low buzzing”). It serves as a rhythmic basis for songs and dancers, almost always accompanied by clapping.
She has already performed in Portugal and other European countries such as France, Spain and Luxembourg, at the invitation of cultural promoters of the Guinean diaspora, at Tina's events and festivals, and it will be a privilege to welcome her to the opening party of Noites de Verão 2025.
Alongside his brother DJ Fett Burger, DJ Sotofett has been releasing superb music through his label Sex Tags and its sub-labels Wania, Amfibia and others for the past two decades or so. His keen ear for discovering new and rare music has made his extended sets legendary - such as the Espírito Santo party at A Lontra in '16 - and we can't wait for Sotofett to join us at Pátio da Cisterna, following last year's monumental celebration with another true gem, DJ Marcelle.
